OpenCMS link repository

Hi Joachim,

Do you think it would be interesting to have an active repository of links about OpenCMS? I'm thinking about something that can be searched, that checks the links to see if they are still active, that can be we managed...

Something along the lines of this (this one is about the Resin web server):
https://swww.uib.es/guide/resin/

Do you think it would be worthwhile? Just to have a list of sites using OpenCMS, articles, documentation references...

Let me know what you think :),

Cheers!

Something like this will be very very worthful ...

And Opencms itself makes it pretty easy to imeplement this with it`s own linkchecker

functionality!

So, now we need somebody who implements this :-)

Any volunteers for this?

Kind Regards

Eummm,
Just let me know which colours, logos, etc.. you want to use and you'll have it. Oh, and a name :D
I mean, I'm the creator of the beast and I made it so you just need to extend some XSL templates and to override some CSS styles and there you go!

Right now there are two "pre-built" themes, one with the navigation bar at the left side, like this one: https://swww.uib.es/guide/resin/ and another one with the navigation on top, like those ones: https://swww.uib.es/guide/java/, https://swww.uib.es/guide/balears/

So if you tell me which style you want to use, you'll have it relatively soon ;).
Oh, right now the languages available are english, spanish and catalan. In case somebody wants to volunteer a transalation, all the messages are located in a external .xml file, so it is very easy to do.

Regards,

PD: I just managed to install the OpenCMS software so I still don't know what are the possibilities of the linkchecker, or the possibilities of integrating this web application with OpenCMS. May be once I've browsed through the documentation... :)

Oh,

opencms is able to make this very easy possible.

You just have to create a new external link gallery and then create a new page where all theese Links are used. Then Opencms checks all theese Links for consistency and availability. That`s it.

Each time you publish this one page all links become checked.

Bye Achim

P.D This is very good learning by doing :-)
